Qubic is mobile-ready quote and invoice software for South African micro and small service businesses. It suits plumbers, electricians, handymen, installers, contractors, maintenance teams and other businesses that need a clear document and payment-follow-up workflow.
Answers before you start
Start Quote lets you enter or paste the client and job information you choose, reuse a client suggestion, or open a supported browser contact picker before continuing to Quote Builder. You review and complete the editable quote yourself before sharing it.
No. Qubic opens the browser contact picker only when you choose that option and receives only the contact information you actively select. It does not automatically read or upload your full address book. Browser and device support varies, and manual entry remains available.
No. A customer can open an available public quote or invoice link without registering. They can review the document, download a PDF and use the actions currently available for that document.
When you choose WhatsApp, Qubic prepares an editable message containing the quote, invoice or reminder link and opens WhatsApp. You review the message and decide whether to send it. Qubic does not automatically send documents on your behalf or promise message delivery.
Yes. Qubic can open your selected email application with prepared content, copy a public link, and export or print a PDF. Qubic does not send the email on your behalf.
Yes. Qubic supports quote-to-invoice workflows as well as standalone invoices. You can set invoice details and a due date, share the public link, follow its status, duplicate an invoice to a new draft, or record payment.
A rejected or recalled quote can be revised. The revised quote is preserved as a new version, earlier versions remain part of document history, and actions are controlled according to the current applicable version.
On Launch, a business can connect its own production PayFast merchant account. When setup is ready and a document is eligible, the customer can use PayFast to pay an accepted quote amount or invoice balance. PayFast processes the payment and Qubic does not hold the customer's funds.
No. You may initiate a PayFast payment to subscribe to Qubic. Your customer payment uses your business's separately connected PayFast merchant account. They are distinct payment contexts.
Yes. Quotes can include 15% VAT when enabled, percentage discounts, deposit terms and internal markup used in quote pricing. Invoices support relevant totals and due dates. Qubic's document VAT feature does not determine the VAT treatment of Qubic subscription fees.
A new persisted quote counts against the quote counter. Invoice drafts do not count when created; the first share of an invoice counts against a separate invoice counter, while re-sharing that sent or viewed invoice does not count again. Both counters reset by calendar month.
Signup collects account and business details, not payment details. An eligible business may receive a 14-day Launch trial. If you choose to subscribe, an authorised user initiates payment through PayFast inside Qubic. If the unpaid trial ends, that business returns to available Starter entitlements and limits unless a successful Launch payment applies.
Yes. An authorised user can cancel Launch in Business Settings. Paid Launch access continues until the recorded end of the current paid period, and trial access continues until the recorded trial-end date. The business then returns to the applicable non-paid state unless another successful Launch payment applies. Where available, Keep Launch can undo a pending cancellation before the end date.
No. GetQubic (Pty) Ltd is not currently VAT registered. R99 is the total amount payable for the monthly Launch period, and no VAT is added. Qubic does not currently promise a tax invoice or separate subscription receipt. VAT shown on a business's customer documents is a separate merchant-document setting.
No. Qubic supports customer-facing quotes, invoices, sharing, payment status and follow-up, business activity visibility, PayFast integration, and basic customer and document history. It is not a complete accounting, bookkeeping, tax, payroll or general-ledger platform and does not provide accounting, tax or legal advice.
You can add a logo, business and company details, VAT and banking information, choose the current standard or logo-only document header, and configure separate quote and invoice numbering with optional prefixes. Custom brand colours are not currently available.
Qubic can create and switch between separate businesses. Current team roles are owner, admin, member and viewer. An authorised business user can invite someone by email; the invitee can sign in or create a matching Qubic account and join the existing business. Invitation links expire after seven days and may be resent, replaced or cancelled. Contact Qubic if you need to confirm limits for a particular setup.
A genuinely new business that registers with a valid business referral code may receive R50 off its first paid Launch month. A referral can qualify once the referred business has completed at least two successful monthly Launch payments, at least 60 days have passed since its first successful paid Launch payment, and its Launch subscription is active. Qubic checks qualification when a successful subscription payment is applied. The referring business then receives Qubic subscription credit, not cash.
Read the full Qubic Referral Program.Open Qubic Settings, select the correct business, then choose Referrals. Owners, admins and members can copy or share the active business's link; viewers can read the programme rules but cannot share a code. The Settings link does not open the Referrals tab directly.
Visitors and users can contact Qubic by email or WhatsApp. Qubic does not currently publish a response-time, dedicated-manager, phone, after-hours or resolution guarantee.
